Sister websites sharing a common core.
DESIGNLEDGE approached me to build two "sister" websites for new apartment complexes that were under construction in Denver. These websites would each have the same functionality behind the scenes, but feature unique design styles.
Since I was writing code for two sites at once, I started in the abstract. Both sites needed a content management system to control galleries, unit information, and the amenities each complex had to offer. Additionally, each site needed PDF generation, contact functionality and a way for tenants to get in touch with the management.
After the abstract functionality was done, I got to work on the unique elements of each site. In case there were any revisions to the core functionality, I made a git branch from the core for each site. This way any foundational changes could be easily merged into each site.
The Jux property was sold and the associated website was taken offline in 2018.
